Law enforcement authorities are working to determine the nature of the substance, with preliminary tests suggesting it may be cocaine.

The incident raised concerns about security protocols and how the substance made its way into the presidential residence.

The substance is undergoing further testing to confirm its composition, according to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Authorities are also actively investigating the source and manner of his access to the White House.

Guglielmi assured the public that the substance had been determined by the Washington Fire Department to not be a threat.

The discovery of the suspicious substance triggered a high-level security alert, leading to the temporary evacuation of the executive residence. It is worth noting that President Joe Biden was not in the White House when the incident occurred. Guglielmi stressed that an “investigation into why and how the substance entered the high-security facility” is being “investigated.”

Guglielmi has yet to disclose details about the exact location of the substance and its packaging that were found inside the White House.

It was confirmed that the substance was discovered during a routine patrol conducted by members of the Secret Service Uniformed Division.

An audio dispatch recording obtained from the Washington Fire Department showed initial tests for the substance showed it to be cocaine hydrochloride.

The recording, made by a firefighter with the department’s hazardous materials team, is time stamped at 8:49 p.m.

“We have a yellow bar that says cocaine hydrochloride.”

While the exact amount of the substance has not been disclosed, an official familiar with the investigation said it was small.

D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Vito Maggiolo confirmed his agency provided support to the U.S. Secret Service during the investigation.

The incident raised concerns about existing security measures at the White House and required a thorough review to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies will work to determine the origin and circumstances of the suspected substance.
