Bob Murphy Tai Chi / Saturday, February 11: 3-4pm

Learn Tai Chi with master Bob Murphy at the Jacques Marche Museum of Tibetan Art on Beacon Hill. For nearly three decades, Murphy studied Chinese martial arts and medicine with renowned master Yu Chengxiang until his death in 2010. Murphy has been teaching for the past 13 years. The City Parks Department is working with the NYPD, the Department of Youth and Community Development, the Department of Education and the city’s five district attorney’s offices to extend the hours Saturday night at youth recreation centers in the area. Enjoy the following activities at the Faber Park Recreation Center in Port Richmond: Basketball, Foosball, Indoor Hockey, Air Hockey, Soccer, Photography, Arts and Crafts.

Saturday Sunday

Children’s Film: Celebrating Black Stories / Saturday 11 February and Sunday 12 February: 2pm-3.30pm

Celebrate Black History Month with a cozy movie night at the Staten Island Museum in Livingston and watch impactful stories spotlighted in seven short films that share the joy, determination, resilience of Black people and young people and complexity.The film screening is organized in partnership with the New York International Children’s Film Festival, presented by Emmy winner and St. George resident Dolores N. Morris.

Runtime: 76 minutes | Recommended ages: 9+

Admission: $10 adults/$5 children under 12; includes museum admission. The same movie will be shown throughout the weekend.

Sound Healing Meditation by Leslee Penny / Sunday, February 12: 11am to 12:15pm
