The Ann Arbor Art Fair is just around the corner.Find out what music and entertainment content is coming in 2023

Ann Arbor, Mich. — The Ann Arbor Art Fair is almost here, which means the streets of the city will soon be filled with not only art, but music and entertainment as well.

The directors of the annual fair have announced the lineup of arts, music and entertainment for the event. The annual art fair, held Thursday, July 20 through Saturday, July 22, spans nearly 30 city blocks and draws nearly half a million people to downtown Ann Arbor.

“I have been attending the Ann Arbor Art Fair for 18 years, and every year it gets bigger and better,” Karen Delhey, executive director of the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, said in a statement Said.

The 2023 Ann Arbor Art Fair will feature a variety of performances on three different stages.

main stageLocated on the corner of Main and William Streets, will feature artists in collaboration with The Ark at 316 S. Main St. and will bring samples of what The Ark brings to Ann Arbor throughout the year. The lineup includes:

Thursday, July 20

  • 6pm – Natalie May
  • 7:30 pm – never wrong son

Friday 21 July

  • 11 a.m. – Youth Arts Alliance and Stay Power
  • Noon – Listen to Low Keys with Laitr
  • 1 p.m. – Michigan Citizens for Prison Reform
  • 2pm – AFSC Band
  • 3pm – on our own terms
  • 6pm – Ki5
  • 7:30 pm – Jeffrey Martin and Anna Tivel

Saturday 22 July

  • 11 a.m. – Lauren Blackford
  • 11:30 am – Tyronn Tolliver
  • Noon—Lightning Round of Entrepreneurship Center
  • 12:30pm – DJ Roxx
  • 1 p.m. – Graham Rockwood
  • 1:30pm – DJ Roxx
  • 2pm – Mekhi Mitchell and WTMC Music Society
  • 2:30pm Entrepreneurship Hub – Finals
  • 3 p.m. – Ypsilanti Youth Orchestra

this William Street Stage is a new stage at the intersection of Maynard Street and William Street and will feature local professional and amateur musicians. The lineup includes:

  • 4 p.m. – Laurel Federbush
  • 5 p.m. – Woodwind Quintet with Kaia Scaggs

Friday 21 July

Exhibitions and other events are also underway. They include:

canadian inuit artist

Feheley Fine Arts will celebrate contemporary Canadian Inuit art with a group exhibition at CultureVerse, 309 South Main Street.

Prison Creative Arts Project

The Prison Creative Arts Project will host a “Digital Humanization” exhibit on the corner of Liberty and Main Streets. It showcases the perspectives of men in Michigan prisons while revealing their faces and stories with photographs.

Ann Arbor Ceramicists Association

The Society of Ceramics hosts live ceramics demonstrations daily on North University Avenue near the Hill Auditorium lawn.

Toledo Museum of Art

The Toledo Museum of Art hosts daily live glassblowing demonstrations on East Washington Street in the University of Michigan Ingalls Mall.

Painting Live with Keith Bynum

HGTV’s Bargain Row artist and star Keith Bynum is painting a mural on Liberty Street lockers outside the Pretzel Bell restaurant. Finished storage containers can be purchased through an online auction, with all proceeds going to the Ann Arbor Art Fair.

Works by David Zinn

Ann Arbor’s own David Zinn will be on-site at Liberty Street near Division Street from 1-3 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays to create temporary chalk works.

Hear a boogie-woogie pianist play

Mark Lincoln Braun, a boogie-woogie pianist named Mr. B, has been bringing his music to the Ann Arbor Art Fair for 40 years and will be at the boogie-woogie venue on North University Avenue. Boogie Woogie Piano Lounge.
