Sea World Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s first dedicated marine life theme park with the world’s largest aquarium, welcomed the royal guest today.

The ruler of Dubai can be seen visiting Sea World Abu Dhabi in a video shared on social media by Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Dubai’s protocol chief. He’s been spotted soaking in the beautiful aquarium in the Endless Ocean Zone (one of Seaworld’s eight realms).

Endless Ocean Kingdom features the largest and most expansive multi-species aquarium in the world. The aquarium holds more than 25 million liters of water and is home to more than 68,000 marine animals.

In the short film, giant stingrays, sharks, schools of fish and a variety of marine species can be seen in the aquarium’s beautiful blue waters as Sheikh Mohammed rides the escalator.

The Sea Life theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi houses more than 100,000 marine animals, including 150 species of birds, fish, mammals and reptiles. The animal habitats in each domain are custom designed “using state-of-the-art technology and the highest standards of animal welfare”.

Seaworld Abu Dhabi’s marine life habitats are designed in accordance with the standards set by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Humane Society of the United States, using the most advanced design and technology to allow animals to live with other fish, birds in a teeming environment. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi allocated spaces designed to provide flexibility for animal welfare, allowing animal care teams to recreate social seasonal patterns for animals such as walruses. Unique systems, such as the Advanced Animal Lighting System (AALS), reproduce diurnal and seasonal light cycles while also delivering the health benefits of full-spectrum light. Animal Life Support Systems (ALSS) manage water quality to support a variety of fish and mammals that live together in dynamic environments.
