As mentioned above, Abu Dhabi Police has partnered with the Abu Dhabi Joint Traffic Safety Committee and coordinated with the Integrated Traffic Center to activate the new road alert system on all major highways in Abu Dhabi. According to a news report from the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the system aims to enhance road safety through the use of colored lights. Yes, to keep drivers safe throughout the emirate, color-changing lights alert them of impending traffic accidents or severe weather conditions.

These flashing red and blue lights will let drivers know of an impending traffic accident. Flashing yellow lights will let drivers know of any adverse weather conditions, including fog, rain, dust or any other incident on the road for a safer experience. As it happens, these flash alerts also run with the help of solar power and internal batteries. Plus, these are easily visible from 200 meters away, day or night. The move is sure to improve road safety for drivers across the emirate.
