Aiken Women In Black and Moms Demand Action will hold a Vigil for Peace and Nonviolence today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., on Whiskey Road across from The Fresh Market (at Hitchcock Drive, the entrance to Aiken Estates). An Independence Day Celebration will be held from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday in Augusta Common in downtown Augusta. The event will feature a kid’s zone, food trucks, vendors and live entertainment There will be a fireworks show to close out the evening.

A Fourth of July Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Living History Park, 299 W. Spring Grove Ave., North Augusta. Step back in time to experience the birth of America. There will be hot dogs, watermelon, water and more. Come dressed in red, white and blue.

Calvary Chapel will hold a Christmas in July yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, and Saturday, July 22, at the chapel, 1411 E. Pine Log Road. On Saturday, a free outdoor festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will host several craft vendors, food trucks and various community groups. JULY 25

The Cass Elias McCarter Guardian ad Litem Program will offer a free virtual training to those interested in becoming a volunteer Guardian ad Litem in Aiken County. GALs advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children who are involved in family court proceedings through the Department of Social Services. Interested volunteers must be at least 21 years old, have a clean criminal record, no prvious DSS case history and have time available to help.
