On Saturday, February 25, 2023, a search and rescue operation was carried out in the mountains of Fujairah.

The National Guard National Search and Rescue Center, in cooperation with the Fujairah Police and the Emirates Civil Defense, carried out an operation to rescue five missing persons of Asian descent in the Wadi Danha mountain area.

One of the five suffered head injuries and was taken by an NSRC aircraft to Daba Al Fujairah Hospital for necessary treatment. The rest were evacuated to safety by civil defense.

The NSRC regularly coordinates with the emirate’s police and other civilian agencies to assist those who are stranded or injured. Helicopters are used to rescue people in hard-to-reach areas.

Last month, NSRC worked with Sharjah police to rescue a 42-year-old man who was quad bike flipped over Ride in the desert of Lady Ayr.

He was airlifted and taken to Al Dhaid Hospital.
