The 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will begin at 8:00 p.m. EST on Sunday and will be broadcast live Netflix’s YouTube page. The awards, presented by SAG-AFRTA, the film and television performances association, have signed on Netflix to live stream the ceremony after TNT/TBS lost their broadcast rights. While future editions will stream directly on Netflix, this year’s show at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles will appear on the streaming service’s YouTube page and its social media channels.

The SAG Awards are considered one of the most reliable Oscar frontrunners. Actors have the largest percentage of film schools, so their choices matter the most. CODA was a big win at SAG last year Ariana DeBose, Will Smith, Jessica Chastain and Troy Kossel all won Screen Actors Guild Awards and Academy Awards before winning Best Picture.
Both support categories seem to be supported by Angela Bassett (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”) and Ke Huiquan (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Sunday’s SAG Awards could offer the award for the clearest leading role.
Best Actress could go to Michelle Yeoh (“Everything at the Same Time”) or Cate Blanchett (“Tar”).although Andrea Riseborough’s controversial campaign Leading to Academy Award nominations, some of the most notable Oscar snubs are up for Best Actress. Despite being nominated by the Screen Actors Guild, Danielle Dadeweiler (“Teel”) and Viola Davis (“The Queen”) were overlooked by the Academy, prompted some to denounce racial bias in Hollywood. Ana de Armas (“Blonde”) was also nominated.
