The UAE embassy in South Africa has issued an advisory to Emiratis in the country, urging them to move to safety.
In a tweet earlier today, the embassy called on Emirati citizens in South Africa to “exercise caution and avoid places and areas where protests have taken place”.
It also urged Emiratis to “move to a place of safety” ahead of calls for protest from the country’s opposition. The embassy provided an emergency contact number for UAE citizens in the country, asking them to get in touch with the authorities: 0027123427736.

South Africa’s opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party called for a nationwide shutdown on March 20 in response to the country’s power crisis and called for the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
South African police said the protests scheduled for Monday were not just a stoppage but an active effort to overthrow the government.
Police said they had not been notified of any planned rally in the province, the BBC reported, adding that more than 18,000 security personnel would be deployed during the march.
President Ramaphosa warned on Thursday that anarchy would not be tolerated during the protests and called on security forces to “defend our people”.
