UAE President receives written message from Cyprus President on bilateral relations

Abu Dhabi [UAE], 5th June (ANI/WAM): His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has received a written letter from the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Christodolides, on bilateral relations between the two countries information. The message was conveyed to Foreign Minister His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his meeting with Cyprus Foreign Minister Konstantinos Combos in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, they discussed the friendship and strategic partnership between the UAE and Cyprus, and explored ways to deepen cooperation in various fields. The two ministers recalled the outcomes of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed’s working visit to Cyprus in April, where he met President Christodolid. They also reaffirmed the growing and developing cooperation between the UAE and Cyprus in various fields.

Discussions also included regional and international situations and developments as well as joint cooperation within international organizations. Sheikh Abdullah and Kombos also discussed several common topics, including climate change and the opportunities available to make a qualitative leap in multilateral efforts to address the effects of climate change. They also discussed the UAE’s preparations to host the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), which is scheduled to take place in Dubai in November. (ANI/WAM)
