Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Mozambican President Philip Nyusi, who was on a working visit to the UAE, at the Al Shati Palace on Monday.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the President of Mozambique and his accompanying delegation, and hoped that this visit would provide an important impetus for the development of bilateral relations in various fields.
The meeting discussed various aspects of UAE-Mozambique relations and opportunities to expand the scope of common interests.
In this context, the two sides reaffirmed their common interest in developing bilateral relations, pushing forward bilateral relations, and serving the interests of the two countries and the friendly peoples of the two countries.
The meeting also involves cooperation in the field of environment and combating climate change, given that Mozambique has joined the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate (AIM for Climate), co-led by the United Arab Emirates and the United States, which was announced last year.
The two sides highlighted the important role that the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Climate Change Convention (COP 28), which will be hosted by the UAE next year, can play in this regard.
The leaders of the two countries exchanged views on some regional and international issues of common concern.
President Nyusi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness for his warm reception, and expressed his willingness to continue to work with His Highness to promote the further development and prosperity of bilateral relations.
Several senior Emirati officials attended the meeting.
