Junk Kouture, a youth creative expression platform offering a fashion design competition that combines youth creativity with environmental sustainability, is about to host its first ever world final. Sixty talented young design teams from around the world were qualified through regional competitions. For the event, three expert judges – Fabio Piras (Fashion Director, Central Saint Martins, London), Lise Pierron (French fashion model and influencer) and Mehreen Baig (British broadcaster and author) – will travel from the UK to , the United States, Ireland, France, Italy and the United Arab Emirates. One of these six will then be chosen for the World Sustainable Designer of the Year. Etihad Airways, Official Airline Partner and Global Partner of Junk Kouture, will sponsor the awards. Materials that entrants used in this year’s designs included everything from trampolines to plastic hygiene wrap, mannequin busts, ATM receipts and real moss.

The 20th edition of the Abu Dhabi Music Festival, themed “The Will to Evolve,” will host a series of musical events beginning March 1 with renowned Peruvian opera tenor Juan Diego Flores Flórez) will perform with Juan Diego Flórez and friends, Command in the High Register. On March 10, they will host the Middle East premiere of The Arabian Nights. Events will run throughout the month, with two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz musician Gregory performing from West to East: A Classical Odyssey, the Middle East premiere of Grammy Award-winning Tan Dun’s The Passion of the Buddha, and more. Overall, in addition to a series of world-class events, including music tours, panel discussions and workshops.
