Watch: New Zealand police answer a child’s cute phone call and confirm his toy is “cool”-News

[ad_1]

A 4-year-old New Zealand boy called an emergency call and asked the police to come and check his toys. This triggered a real-life call and was confirmed by a police officer that these toys are really cool.

The police shared the audio of the call and a photo of the smiling boy sitting on the hood of the patrol cruiser on social media this week, noting that although they discourage children from making emergency calls, the incident was “too cute to share.”

The call started: “This is the police, where is the emergency?”

After a pause, the unidentified boy said hesitantly, “Hi,” and then “Policewoman?”

“Yes,” the dispatcher asked, and then switched to a friendlier singing voice. “How is this going?”

“Well, can I tell you one thing?” The boy asked, and was told it was okay. He said, “I have some toys for you.”

“Did you prepare some toys for me?” the dispatcher said.

“Yes. Come and see them,” the boy replied.

A man then answered the phone and confirmed that it was a wrong call, saying that the 4-year-old child had been helping when his mother was sick.

A police dispatch call then went out and gave the address: “There is a 4-year-old kid who wants to show his toy to the police, come here.”

“Yes, I am alone, and I will pay attention,” an officer replied.

According to the police, the police officer was shown a series of toys at the boy’s home in Invercargill, South Island. They only confirmed that he was Officer Kot.

They said the police officer was also able to have a “good and educational conversation” on how to use the emergency phone number correctly, which is 111 in New Zealand.

According to the police, “He does have cool toys,” Constable Kurt reported after participating in a conference call. They added: “The lucky boy also saw the patrol car and the police turned on the lights for him.”
