West visits London, Abu Dhabi to discuss Afghanistan

[ad_1]

US envoy Thomas West said on Twitter that he would visit London and Abu Dhabi this week to connect with colleagues in the UK and the UAE on shared interests in Afghanistan.

“This week, June 5-9, I will be visiting London and Abu Dhabi to engage with UK and UAE colleagues on shared interests in Afghanistan,” West tweeted.

“On June 21, the UN Security Council will hold a meeting on Afghanistan, and another Afghan meeting will be held in Norway. The US will not remain indifferent,” said Aziz Mari, a political analyst.

However, Islamic Emirate spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the visits helped strengthen cooperation with Afghanistan.

“Afghans complain that their rights are being taken away, their money is frozen. Their banks are all sanctioned by the United States, and major projects are blocked and cannot be recognized. This is all harmful, and this approach must change,” Mujahid pointed out.

Given the current situation in Afghanistan, analysts have mixed views on the role of the United States and its representative’s visit to Afghanistan.

“America is built on a system. Its goals are set, and according to what it wants to achieve and what it wants to achieve, Afghanistan is not immune,” political analyst Abdul Shukordad said. Russ said.

Earlier, Thomas West, the US special envoy for Afghanistan, visited a number of other regional and European countries, including India, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Switzerland, Germany and Turkey.
