Yah Click-NIGCOMSAT Partnership to Enhance Broadband Connectivity in Nigeria

“Yah Click, the data solutions subsidiary of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company, a prominent satellite solutions provider based in the UAE, has forged a strategic partnership with Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd. This collaboration aims to enhance broadband accessibility in Sub-Saharan Africa, facilitating greater access to vital electronic services throughout the region.

Scheduled to commence in Q4 2023, this joint effort between Yah Click and NIGCOMSAT will usher in faster and more dependable broadband internet connectivity. These enhancements will elevate standard profile speeds to 25 Mbps and offer speeds of up to 100 Mbps for dedicated corporate users. This boost will empower the delivery of essential services, including education, healthcare, and various public and corporate functions.

Sulaiman Al Ali, Chief Commercial Officer of Yah sat, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome NIGCOMSAT into Yah Click’s expanding roster of African partners. Our collaboration will play a pivotal role in enabling the Nigerian government and private organizations to extend crucial electronic services to underserved and unserved communities nationwide. To ensure the success of Nigeria’s digital transformation, it is essential to have reliable in-country infrastructure capable of delivering uninterrupted services. Yah Click’s extensive experience in providing advanced and cost-effective technologies, even in remote areas, will be instrumental.”

Leveraging Yah click’s expertise and cutting-edge technology, the initiative will facilitate the deployment of e-government applications, contributing to the acceleration of Nigeria’s digitalization plans. This will offer uninterrupted internet access to previously underserved and unserved communities.

Tukur Mohammed Lawal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NIGCOMSAT, emphasized the importance of infrastructure development to support Nigeria’s ongoing digitalization efforts, saying, “Nigeria is rapidly advancing its digitization journey, and thus, it is crucial to establish infrastructure capable of supporting the diverse range of services planned for communities across the nation. Yah Click enjoys a highly regarded reputation, and we eagerly anticipate our collaborative efforts to implement satellite connectivity in Africa.”

To ensure the project aligns with national requirements and essential service institutions in Nigeria, a steering committee comprising executives from both companies has been formed to oversee its implementation.”
