Emirates launches maiden flight to Montreal

[ad_1]

Emirates has flown to Montreal, the airline’s first passenger flight to the cultural capital of Quebec and the airline’s second Canadian gateway.

Emirates flight EK243 took off at 0300 hours today (5 July) with 340 passengers on board, including a VIP delegation and onboard media.

The new daily flight to Montreal complements Emirates’ seven weekly flights to Toronto and expands the airline’s North American route network to 14 destinations, as well as 18 destinations across the Americas. The service will provide travelers with flights from Lebanon, India, Iran, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and South Africa to Canada via Dubai.

The direct service between Dubai and Montreal is expected to cater to a diverse group of people, including business and leisure travelers, as well as family and friends visiting Canadians living and working in the UAE. Since Montreal is home to several world-class universities, this route is expected to be extremely popular with students from the Middle East, West Asia, Central Asia and the Far East.

Emirates executives include: Adnan Kazim, chief commercial officer; Salem Obaidalla, senior vice president, commercial operations, Americas; and David Broz, vice president, aviation political and industrial affairs. Canadian Ambassador to the UAE Radha Krishna Panday bid farewell to the delegation at the airport.

Commanding the inaugural flight to Montreal were Captain Talal Al Hammadi (UAE national), Captain David Reny (Canadian national), First Officer Omar Alhammadi (UAE national) and First Officer Veljko Veljovic (Canadian national).

Emirates will operate a three-class Boeing 777-300ER on the route, comprising eight First Class private suites, 42 Business Class lie-flat seats and over 300 spacious Economy Class seats for daily service. – trade arab news agency
