Russia strikes Lviv ‘critical infrastructure’, apartment buildings hit News of the World

Ukrainian authorities said a Russian attack on the western Ukrainian city of Lviv damaged “critical infrastructure” and wounded at least four people. So far, the region has remained largely peaceful.

“A critical infrastructure in Lviv has been damaged, according to initial reports, people have been injured,” Lviv Governor Maksym Kozytski wrote on Telegram, according to AFP. It was unclear whether the attack came from a drone or a missile.

Earlier, the governor cited the Ukrainian air force command as saying “several” missiles were “moving towards the western region”.

The governor informed that a Russian rocket hit an apartment building, causing casualties, “A Russian rocket hit an apartment building in Lviv. A fire broke out and was quickly extinguished. There are victims.”

What did the mayor of Leaf say about the Russian attack on the city?

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said the city heard “a series of explosions” and warned residents to stay in shelters.

He said: “At present, as far as we know, four people were injured in the missile attack.” One of them was “seriously” injured and has been taken to hospital.

The last time Liev was attacked was on June 20, when Russian drones launched a massive attack on Kiev and other cities.
