Kim Jong-un and Russia’s defense chief inspect vital weapons

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently inspected Russia’s advanced weaponry during his rare visit abroad.

In Vladivostok, Kim was warmly received by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, where they examined Russia’s nuclear bombers and later boarded a warship.

Kim’s visit to Russia has had a strong focus on military matters, prompting concerns in the West regarding potential arms deals between Moscow and Pyongyang.

Both nations face global sanctions, with Russia seeking North Korean ammunition for its conflict in Ukraine, and North Korea seeking Russian support for its missile program.

However, the Kremlin has denied any signed agreements. Despite speculation, no formal agreements were reached during Kim’s trip, although there were discussions about the possibility of North Korea developing satellites with Russian assistance, which raised concerns in Washington due to potential violations of UN Security Council resolutions.
