Etihad Rail Abu Dhabi Fujairah Train Service Update

Etihad Rail Abu Dhabi Fujairah Train Marks a New Era of Travel

The UAE’s rail journey is only just getting started. Since its launch, the Etihad Rail Abu Dhabi Fujairah train has been steadily building momentum, connecting the capital to the east coast in just 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The service currently runs three daily round trips between Abu Dhabi’s Mohamed bin Zayed City station and Fujairah, with tickets starting from Dh55 in Comfort Class and Dh120 in Premium Class.

More than 10,000 tickets were sold even before the official launch, showing strong early demand from residents. The route is served by a fleet of 13 trains, each with capacity for up to 400 passengers.

This is only the first phase of the Etihad Rail Abu Dhabi Fujairah train project. Dubai and Al Dhaid stations are set to open on September 30, marking the network’s official nationwide launch.

Stations in Abu Dhabi‘s Al Dhafra region follow on December 30, with Sharjah station completing the initial route on March 30, 2027.

Once fully operational, the network will link 11 cities and towns, with trains running at speeds up to 200 km/h and total ridership expected to reach 10 million passengers a year — a genuine shift toward greener, faster inter-emirate travel.
