BEIJING, 1st October, 2022 (WAM) — Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to China, affirmed that the UAE and the People’s Republic of China maintain close strategic ties, noting that their relationship is a successful example of international bilateral relations.
On this occasion, Zahri congratulated the Chinese leaders and people on the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the country.
In the statement, the ambassador said: “We commend China and its people for their achievements over the past 73 years. China’s prosperity has had a positive impact on the world. We are witnessing these positive impacts in the UAE through bilateral cooperation in both countries as well as Economic growth across the MENA region has boosted trade and investment, and both countries have benefited greatly since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership.
He said that the UAE, as one of the first countries to join the “Belt and Road” initiative, has become a major logistics center in the Middle East and North Africa region. More than 60 percent of China’s exports are re-exported to the region, and trade between the two countries exceeds $70 billion.
Daheri pointed out that the two countries are committed to continuously strengthen economic and trade cooperation and strive to reach 200 billion US dollars in bilateral trade by 2030.
“This year marks the 38th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries. Over the past 37 years, through the enthusiasm of our leaders to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the UAE-China relationship has become a successful example of international bilateral relations.”
Al Dhaheri mentioned the visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to the UAE in 2018, which strengthened the relationship and culminated in the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to China in 2019.
He also emphasized that Arab-China cooperation covers various fields such as economy and finance, e-commerce, and energy. The two countries aim to expand cooperation in the fields of education, culture, science and technology.
Al Dhaheri stressed that the UAE and the People’s Republic of China have a close strategic relationship and work together to create a prosperous future. He noted that the shared aspirations and forward-looking vision of the leaders of the two countries have strengthened this friendship.
