The former PTI lawmaker added: “Given the conditions in Pakistan, vacancies in the opposition are unlikely and there is an opportunity for the PDM to make a difference.”

According to Fawad, he held talks today with former leaders of the Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI). “We also held talks with Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak, Asad Qaiser and Shah Mahmood Qureshi,” he added.

The former minister said they believed Pakistan needed to move towards a stable solution. He called for the need to show “collective responsibility” to help “countless innocent people and imprisoned workers”.

“People who are in jail have no direct connection to these things and it is our collective responsibility to bring them out,” he added, according to ARY News.

Some PTI lawmakers and members parted ways with the party after the violence on May 9, in which military installations including the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander’s House were at the party’s disposal. Chairman Imran Khan was attacked after his arrest.

The Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) has suffered two huge blows as former Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari and former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry quit amid violence on 9 May the party. (Arnie)
