The former PTI lawmaker added: “Given the conditions in Pakistan, vacancies in the opposition are unlikely and there is an opportunity for the PDM to make a difference.”

The former minister said they believed Pakistan needed to move towards a stable solution. He called for the need to show “collective responsibility” to help “countless innocent people and imprisoned workers”.

“People who are in jail have no direct connection to these things and it is our collective responsibility to bring them out,” he added, according to ARY News.

Some PTI lawmakers and members parted ways with the party after the violence on May 9, in which military installations including the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander’s House were at the party’s disposal. Chairman Imran Khan was attacked after his arrest.
