Abu Dhabi Hindu temple favored by global diplomats | News

Ambassador of India to the UAE Sunjay Sudhir warmly welcomed the envoys from more than 30 countries, welcoming the vision of the UAE leadership and its inspiring efforts to create an exemplary, multicultural, peaceful and cohesive community in the country. On 25 May, the Special Envoys visited the upcoming BAPS Hindu temple complex in Abu Dhabi. The ambassador briefed them on the progress of the temple since the foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Modi in 2018. He also described the temple project as a symbol of the close, historical and cultural ties between India and the UAE, which share the values of peace, harmony, tolerance and coexistence. In an interaction with Brahmaviharidas Swami, who leads the Hindu Temple Project, the envoys were briefed on the characteristics of the temple. During the tour, volunteers from BAPS explained how folklore from Indian belief systems and other world beliefs are depicted in the temple. The envoys marveled at the intricately hand-carved columns, façades and rafters within the temple architecture, which incorporate Emirati and Indian cultural motifs. The ambassadors also interacted with artisans and other members of the temple team. The BAPS Hindu Temple reflects the benevolence of the UAE government, which gifted 17 acres of land for the temple complex. Furthermore, the completion of Temple, which is eagerly awaited by the 3.5 million Indians who call the UAE their second home, will continue to serve as a symbol of friendship between India and the UAE.
