Veteran actor Kamal Haasan will receive the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema at the upcoming IIFA Weekend Awards in Abu Dhabi.
The International Indian Film Institute (IIFA) will also honor fashion designer Manish Malhotra and actor couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza at an awards ceremony on May 26 and May 27 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
Hassan, a multi-hyphenate film personality who has worked across industries in India, said he is looking forward to the 2023 IIFA Awards.
“I am very honored and grateful that I have been a part of many IIFAs who have done a great job in promoting Indian cinema globally and this time I am honored to be part of IIFA 2023 in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. It is a pleasure able to attend the event,” Hassan said in a statement.
Malhotra, whose credits include films such as Langella, Dil To Pagal Haiand Ae Dil Hai MushkilAn exclusive ‘Old World Glamor Meets New’ collection will also be showcased at the fashion show as part of Sobha Realty IIFA Rocks, IIFA’s sidebar event.
Deshmukh and D’Souza will receive the Regional Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film.Last year, D’Souza produced go through, a romantic drama with Deshmukh. The film marks Deshmukh’s directorial debut.It was the highest-grossing Marathi film of the year and the third-highest-grossing Marathi film of all time, surpassing his own film Lebari (2014).
While IIFA Rocks will be hosted by Farah Khan and Rajkummar Rao, the main awards will be hosted by Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal.
