Aveva Announces New CEO and Vision for the Connected Industry


Aveva, the global leader in industrial software, announces Caspar Herzberg as CEO with a deep understanding of how technology is changing and reshaping industries.

With more than 25 years of software and industry experience, Herzberg drives innovation and drives the responsible use of resources.

Herzberg joins Aveva in 2021 as chief revenue officer and in 2022 as chief operating officer. Aveva was recently acquired by Schneider Electric and as CEO of Aveva, he will also be a member of Schneider Electric’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Aveva, Herzberg led all aspects of Schneider Electric’s business in more than 80 countries as President Middle East and Africa. He started his business career at Accenture’s London office and has worked extensively on digital transformation for the global energy industry. At Cisco, Herzberg led sales and services for more than a decade, developing smart city strategies, technology innovations, and business master plans for the private and public sectors in China, Asia, Japan, Australia, the United States, and Europe.

Herzberg succeeds Peter Herweck, who will become Schneider Electric’s CEO on May 4, 2023.
