Benedict Cumberbatch survives ‘Angry Chef’ attack at home

A knife-wielding man recently terrorized Benedict Cumberbatch and his family after they broke into their north London home.

The armed intruder was identified as Jack Bissell, who worked as a chef at the Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair.

according to daily mailthe 35-year-old slammed the front door of the Marvel star’s multimillion-dollar home, yelling: “I know you’ve moved here and I want it to burn down.”

The star was at his house with his wife and their three children when the attacker yelled threats.

The former chef also reportedly caused physical harm to the 46-year-old property by attacking the intercom, spitting on it and throwing plants against the wall.

Authorities later arrested him through DNA evidence collected from him spitting on a walkie-talkie.

“Of course, the whole family was very scared and thought this guy was going to come in and hurt them,” an insider with knowledge of the situation told the outlet.

“Fortunately, it never got that far. Benedict and Sophie have had many sleepless nights since worrying they might be targeted again,” the source added. “The fact that this was a targeted intrusion makes it all the more terrifying.”

On May 10, the court fined Bissell and ordered the Cumberbatch family to serve a three-year restraining order after he pleaded guilty.

In addition, British tabloids reported that the facts of the case could not be reported until they “successfully challenged the full coverage limit this week”.

However, Bissell and Cumberbatch’s relationship is still up in the air.
