Ex-PM Imran Khan faces new arrest warrant in Pakistan

Former PM Imran Khan faces a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by Pakistan’s election commission. This adds to the series of legal challenges for the ex-cricketer-turned-politician, who was arrested in May for a corruption case, leading to deadly unrest. He was released on bail shortly after.

Khan has been confronted with various charges in different institutions and courts since his removal, including graft, murder, and sedition.

Recently, the government announced criminal proceedings against him for exposing official secrets related to diplomatic correspondence between Washington and Islamabad.
