UAE Weather Turns Cooler in October as Rain Chances Increase

The UAE is moving into a gradual shift from summer to autumn in October, with temperatures expected to ease as the month progresses and the chances of rain increasing in some parts of the country.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expects rainfall this month to be slightly above the October average of 5.2mm. However, temperatures are also expected to remain higher than the normal average of 29.7°C.

The change will become more noticeable during the second half of October. Eastern and mountainous areas are more likely to see rain as convective clouds develop. These conditions can also bring stronger winds and blowing dust, which may temporarily reduce visibility.

Recent forecasts show that the rain risk is already increasing. On October 6, the NCM forecast a chance of rainfall across eastern and southern parts of the UAE as convective clouds develop during the afternoon. Areas around Fujairah and Al Ain were among those facing a higher possibility of rain.

Humidity will remain another important weather factor. Coastal and inland areas can experience humid nights and early mornings, increasing the possibility of fog or mist. Recent forecasts have also put humidity levels as high as 90% in some areas.

For residents, October marks the beginning of more comfortable outdoor conditions, although daytime temperatures can still feel hot. The gradual fall in temperatures, combined with more frequent cloud formation and rain, signals the UAE‘s transition toward its cooler season.

Weather conditions are expected to become more variable as October continues, making the month an important transition period before cooler winter weather arrives.
