India, the world’s third-largest energy consumer, is making swift progress in transitioning to renewables and remains committed to achieving its net zero emissions targets by 2070, according to the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri.

He highlighted the success of the National Policy on Biofuels, which aimed to reduce carbon emissions and enhance energy security.

India achieved its target of 10% ethanol blending ahead of schedule and has revised its goal to reach 20% ethanol blending by 2025.

The country is also actively promoting green hydrogen and electric vehicles, demonstrating its commitment to a green energy transition. Despite global challenges, India’s growth remains robust, with a strong focus on sustainable energy solutions.
