Fast-growing lifestyle hotel brand Rove Hotels has become the latest member of the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, the world’s leading network of responsible hotels.
Rove Hotels has now joined and partnered with more than 30 other members of the coalition, which seeks to embed net positive hospitality within the industry.
Founded in Dubai in 2016, Rove Hotels is known for its fun and quirky identity and carefree service style, and currently has over 7,000 rooms and residences open or under development across the Middle East. Since opening, the brand has focused heavily on reducing plastic waste as well as water, paper and electricity consumption, and has managed to obtain Green Key certificates at all of its hotels – a prestigious ‘green’ label awarded to only 3,700 hotels worldwide.
Rove Hotels also manages Rove Expo 2020, a LEED Gold certified hotel that is the only on-site hotel in Dubai Expo City, the sustainable city that recently hosted Expo 2020 Dubai and will host upcoming COP28, the United Nations climate change conference.
The alliance’s Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality program sets ambitious goals to create a prosperous and responsible global hospitality industry that gives back to destinations more than it needs. It harnesses the strength of the four pillars of People, Planet, Place and Prosperity, combined with the transformative power, innovation and resources of the industry.
Rove Hotels Chief Operating Officer Paul Bridger said: “Environmentally responsible is at the heart of Rove and we know it’s important to our Rovers (guests) too. Hoteliers from around the world are working together towards a net positive hospitality industry.”
Glenn Mandziuk, CEO of Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, said: “It was fantastic meeting Rove Hotels at the Arabian Travel Market trade show earlier this month as we marked their first weeks as a member of the Alliance. Sustainability is their core of the brand and we look forward to supporting them in the near future and working together to deliver net positive hospitality across Dubai and the Middle East.” – trade arab news agency
