UAE Flight Disruptions Continue on Selected Routes in August
UAE flight disruptions continue on selected routes in August as airlines adjust schedules because of regional security concerns and airspace restrictions. Most flights are operating normally, but passengers travelling to destinations such as Bahrain and Kuwait continue to face cancellations and limited services.
Emirates continues to suspend its Dubai-Bahrain and Dubai-Kuwait services. Etihad Airways has also reported cancellations on some Bahrain and Kuwait routes, while Air Arabia has cancelled several services from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to destinations including Kuwait, Bahrain and Doha.
At the same time, some airlines have resumed services. Qatar Airways restarted flights to Bahrain, Kuwait and Erbil on August 8, while Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Several international airlines are also continuing to review their Dubai schedules. Air Canada has extended its Dubai suspension until mid-January 2027, while Singapore Airlines has extended its Dubai suspension until October 24.
Other carriers, including KLM, Cathay Pacific and Philippine Airlines, have also maintained or extended selected Dubai service changes.
Some flights are also taking longer because airlines are avoiding parts of the region’s airspace. Alternative routes can add several hours to certain journeys.
UAE residents travelling in August should check their flight status directly with their airline before leaving for the airport. Schedules can change at short notice as carriers continue to monitor regional conditions.
