Your library card is now the key to world news

[ad_1]

Providing access to information from around the world is one of the key services libraries provide. It is now easier to access global news at Lithgow City Council Library by subscribing to the Global News Bank.

Library members will have free access to more than 7,500 global news sources covering more than 200 countries and territories, including many local countries and territories. Most sources are text-based and fully searchable, including back issues, and some major papers can be accessed image-based. Global news is available in native language, but can also be read in English using Google Translate.

Newsbank provides a global perspective on current and past news events. It’s also a great search resource for researchers and students. Some local newspapers in text-only format include Lithgow Mercury, Western Advocate and Blue Mountains Gazette. Major Sydney newspapers available daily in graphic and text form include The Sydney Morning Herald, The Daily Telegraph and The Australian.
