Nawaz Sharif to start visit to Saudi Arabia, UAE tomorrow

LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia on Saturday (tomorrow) and is expected to spend Eid al-Adha with his family And perform Umrah.

The three-time prime minister confirmed to reporters that he will visit Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia for about three weeks. He will hold meetings with members of the royal family, local businessmen and community leaders.

Hussein Nawaz, the former prime minister’s eldest son, also told reporters that his father would travel to Dubai and make the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

It is understood that the PML-N supreme leadership will be attended by PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz and other family members including Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif arrived in London at the weekend after a trip to Paris. Nawaz Sharif will meet his younger brother before heading to Saudi Arabia.

The Muslim League-Northern leader spent the last Eid al-Fitr with his family in the kingdom, with Prime Minister Shebaz and other family members spending the last days of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr with him.

PML-N sources said Nawaz will return to Pakistan in the next few months.
